What is your minimum order quantity?

Three tiers, because three different things are being made. Samples are 5 pcs - enough to bring up the hardware and check mechanical fit. Catalogue models, including ones with FPC, connector, backlight or touch changes, are 100 pcs, because the glass already exists and only assembly is scheduled. Fully custom glass is 1,000 pcs, because a mask has to be cut and a glass run has a minimum economic size. If your annual volume sits below a tier, say so - sometimes an existing panel gets you 90 % of the way and keeps you in the lower tier.

Catalogue MOQ is the same 100 pcs across categories - the tier is set by whether glass has to be tooled, not by product type.

How long is the lead time?

10-20 days for production and 10-15 days for samples, from confirmed specification and payment terms. Custom glass adds the tooling and first article cycle, quoted per project. What moves these dates in practice is rarely the line: it is unconfirmed drawings, unanswered spec questions and approval samples waiting for a decision.

Sample policy

Samples are 5 pcs of a catalogue model and ship in 10-15 days. Samples are built in-house, which is why the sample cycle is short and why sample behaviour matches production behaviour - a sample bought from a trading company often comes from a different source than the eventual production order, and that is exactly where surprises come from. Sample charges and freight are quoted with the sample; ask for the current terms with your enquiry.

What if my annual volume is below the MOQ?

Say so rather than inflating the number on the enquiry - an inflated forecast produces a price you cannot hold, and everyone loses a quarter finding that out. Three routes usually work. First, adapt an existing panel instead of tooling new glass: that moves you from 1,000 pcs to 100 pcs and is often technically equivalent. Second, consolidate variants - two products that could share one display reach the tier together. Third, order the first production batch at the catalogue minimum and schedule the rest against a forecast, which keeps the unit price stable while your own volume ramps. What does not work is asking for 1,000 pcs-class tooling at sample quantities; the mask cost does not disappear because the order is small, and a supplier who says yes to that is recovering it somewhere you cannot see.

How quantity, price and forecast actually interact

Unit price steps at glass-run and assembly-batch boundaries, not smoothly with quantity, so a jump from 800 to 1,000 pieces can change the price more than a jump from 1,000 to 1,500. Ask for the break points rather than a single figure and you can size the order deliberately. A forecast is worth real money to both sides here: it lets glass be planned in one campaign instead of several, which is where the shorter effective lead time on repeat orders comes from. We would rather hold a price against an honest forecast that is revised than against an optimistic one that is not.

Repeat orders and annual programmes

For an annual programme, scheduling call-off batches against a forecast is better for both sides than quoting each purchase order separately: it holds the price, shortens the effective lead time and lets us plan glass. Ask for it when you enquire rather than after the third order.
