Where LCD modules typically get classified

Flat panel display modules have their own dedicated heading in the current international Harmonized System nomenclature, distinct from finished consumer electronics. Where a specific product lands within that heading depends on details of the module itself - whether it includes a driver, a touch sensor, a backlight, and how it is presented for import - which is a customs classification question, not an engineering one. We do not quote a specific tariff code as a blanket answer, because getting it wrong is the importer's liability, not a formality: always confirm the exact code for your specific configuration with your customs broker or national customs authority before relying on it.

Why the same product can classify differently by market

The EU, US and UK each maintain their own national tariff schedule, built on the same international HS core but extended with country-specific subheadings and duty rates. A code that is correct for an EU import is not automatically correct for a US or UK one, even for an identical product - this is a market-by-market question, not a one-time lookup.

Who is responsible for duties under our trade terms

Your own customs broker is the authoritative source for your specific import, but the starting point in each market is the national tariff lookup tool: TARIC in the EU, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule search on the US International Trade Commission's site, and the UK Trade Tariff tool. All three are free, official and publicly searchable - useful for a first estimate before you involve a broker, not a substitute for one on a real shipment.
