TN glass is the cost-efficient choice with the fastest response. Contrast and colour shift once you move off the specified viewing direction, so it fits devices with a fixed operator position.
150 cd/m² is an indoor, low-power specification - typical for battery meters and handheld instruments where runtime matters more than brightness.
